Touch up any chipped plaster, holes in the wall and/or paint

Repair any cracks in walls or ceilings

Ensure all doors and cupboards close properly

Repair leaky taps, pipes or toilets

Ensure seal around tubs and basins are in good repair

Check all light bulbs – are they working properly, is the wattage adequate? Replace any burnt out bulbs – consider full spectrum or daylight

Replace any broken light switches or switch plates

Clean fingerprints off all light switches or switch plates

Pack up the little things. Little things create clutter. They will need to be packed up and moved out eventually, so pack now

Clean the inside and tops of closets and cupboards (buyers will open them up to check out the storage space)

Clean all major kitchen appliances (stove, oven, fridge, microwave) in and out

Clean the kitchen and each bathroom so they are spotless and sparkle

Clean every mirror in the house

Pack valuables, such as art objects, vases, figurines or personal collections so they are out of reach, out of sight and locked away

Wash windows inside and out throughout the house

Make sure all windows operate properly. If the seal is broken on a window, repair or replace now
